The Ask Sean Show

Back in the beginning of September, we got to hear from Sean Armstrong, Managing Principal at Redwood Energy.

When I first started working in electrification, I was quickly hooked by one stat. I learned that 42% of America’s carbon footprint comes from the everyday “kitchen table” decisions in our homes and driveways. The potential impact of fixing that 42% pulled me in, and I’ve been working on electrification projects ever since. But that was just a few years ago!

Sean has been a pioneer in this movement since 2011. He’s designed award-winning zero net energy homes, helped push forward legislation, and set a high standard for what electrification can and should look like. He’s a figurehead in the movement and, honestly, a north star for those of us following behind.

Sean’s commitment to an all-electric future is deeply personal. After losing his mother-in-law in the devastating 2017 Tubbs Fire—made worse by climate change and fueled by record-breaking heat—he became uncompromising about eliminating natural gas. His clarity and determination are an inspiration to me.
